The Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters

 

Northeastern Minnesotans for Wilderness seeks to hire a Regional Campaign Organizer for the Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters. The Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters is a local, state, and national Campaign to prevent sulfide-ore copper mining in the watershed of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

 

Regional Campaign Organizer: Duties and Responsibilities

 

·       The Regional Campaign Organizer will carry out numerous outreach projects as assigned by the State Director. Including but not limited to: Volunteer phonebanks, business outreach, house parties, campus outreach, constituent group outreach, volunteer leadership development, etc.


·       Organize the logistics for and represent the Campaign at visibility opportunities. Such as Midwest Mountaineering's Fall and Spring Expo, National Wilderness Conferences, community presentations, other community events, etc.


·       Work with senior staff, board members, and partner organizations to carry out thoughtful and deliberate strategies for outreach to our main constituencies: Twin Cities Businesses, Faith Groups, Sportsmen/Sportswomen, Wilderness area cabin owners and Youth.


·       Assist with maintaining organizational systems like meeting calendars, agendas, notes and goals.


·       Work with the State Director to achieve our outreach goals and track and manage supporters in our databases


·       The Regional Campaign Organizer will report directly to the State Director and will be a key member of the Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters staff.


·       Work with campaign staff and Board on all aspects of the overall campaign plan. Including local/state/federal strategic planning, communications, public outreach, and fundraising.


·       This position will be located in the Twin Cities with regular travel around the Midwest Region and to Duluth, MN; Ely, MN; and Washington, DC.


·       The Regional Campaign Organizer position is a full time salaried position with the Northeastern Minnesotans for Wilderness an IRS recognized 501c3 organization.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

·       ·       Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience

·       Experience with and familiarity of the Boundary Waters and/or other Wilderness areas

·       Excellent oral and written communication skills

·       Experience in public lands, conservation, and/or political campaigns

·       Highly organized and attentive to detail

·       Team leadership skills

·       Ability to work independently

·       Willingness and ability to travel

·       Passion for protecting the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and the Quetico-Superior ecosystem

·       Trustworthy

·       Ambitious and takes initiative; not wedded to working 9 to 5

 

COMPENSATION:

 

·       Compensation for the Regional Campaign Organizer includes a competitive salary and an excellent package of health and other employee benefits.
