Data Manager – Grossman Heinz

 

Grossman Heinz is seeking an experienced Data Manager to start immediately to manage our data systems, and provide VAN training and technical support for client projects.

 

This is a full-time position. Our preference is for the Data Manager to join our growing team in Washington D.C. but we are open to having the right individual work at one of our other offices in New York or Connecticut.

Grossman Heinz is a public affairs firm specializing in government relations, grassroots mobilization, lobbying, executive search and management consulting. Our clients include advocacy groups, non-profit organizations, labor unions, trade associations, campaigns and corporations.

 

Responsibilities

·      Provide consultation and advice to staff and clients on the most effective use of data to help accomplish organizational and programmatic goals

·      Work closely and collaboratively with Project Managers to advise on data processes, assess performance, and recommend program adjustments

·      Serve as the VAN Administrator on client projects

·      Develop reporting tools and tracking systems to monitor daily program progress on client projects

·      Create training curricula and materials for field staff

·      Establish data entry and reporting processes

·      Provide regular data support to field staff, and troubleshoot data and VAN challenges

·      Create and compile regular reports for staff and clients

·      Create presentations to communicate data using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools

·      Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

·      Minimum three years or two full cycles working in a data management capacity on political or issue-based campaigns

·      Expert skills in NGP VAN/VoteBuilder required

·      Experience with Catalist preferred 

·      Programming experience and fluency in SQL are a plus

·      Experience with data analytics and an ability to effectively interpret data and communicate it clearly to staff and clients

·      Experience with and ability to train and coach others on VAN and data entry processes

·      Expert Microsoft Excel skills required

·      Ability to work in and adapt to a fast-moving, team-oriented environment

·      Ability to easily shift between precise detailed work and big picture project management

·      Strong time management skills and ability to communicate production timelines on multiple projects

·      Willingness to work long hours with irregular weekday and some weekend hours
