POSITION TITLE: Caucus Director
REPORTS TO: Dem-NPL legislative leadership, and Dem-NPL executive director
LOCATON: Fargo, ND
DESCRIPTION: The Caucus Director will support House and Senate Dem-NPL leadership in their work to recruit and train high quality candidates; raise significant funds to run winning campaigns; assist current members with ongoing political and campaign-related needs; coordinate outreach to Dem-NPL district and local leaders; manage the Dem-NPL voter file; and assist the Minority Leaders as requested.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the day-to-day logistics of candidate recruitment, including the development of a tracking database; recruit, schedule and staff meetings with prospective candidates; and provide regular progress reports to Caucus leadership
- Provide support to current members with their activities outside of the Capitol, particularly as relates to their campaigns;
- Serve as point of contact for prospective and already-recruited candidates, and ensure ongoing training and other support is available as requested;
- Ensure regular communication between the Minority Leader and/or Deputy Minority Leaders and top candidate prospects as well as with local party units and party leadership;
- Represent the Caucus at party meetings, conventions, and other events as needed;
- Assist with Caucus fundraising events, earned media events, and statewide travel;
- Day-to-day management of candidates and committees in VoteBuilder;
- Developing and implementing a training program for VoteBuilder statewide in conjunction with the Field Department, including a regular webinar schedule;
- Maintaining an inventory of all data assets;
- Creating and maintaining survey questions, activist codes and other VoteBuilder infrastructure;
- Maintaining the State Party My Campaign database;
- Tracking and disseminating analysis of voter contact results, early vote and absentee turnout, voter registration, and other data relevant to campaigns and caucuses;
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Minority Leaders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Multiple cycles of experience in field or fundraising;
- Advanced knowledge of NGP VAN and VoteBuilder;
- Understanding and experience in targeting;
- Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver's license;
- Willingness to work long hours in fast-paced environment;
- Proven experience managing multiple, complex projects, and finishing tasks on deadline;
- Must be able to work with high-level Dem-NPL officials, candidates, staff, and donors.
SALARY:
- $40,000 / commensurate with experience
