[GAINPOWER.org: Jobs That Are Left] Field Organizer - Quinn Nystrom for Congress (MN08)

Quinn Nystrom for Congress - Field Organizers

The Quinn Nystrom for Congress Campaign is seeking full-time Field Organizers for a data driven field operation in one of the most competitive congressional districts of the 2020 cycle. Field Organizers are responsible for building a grassroots network of volunteers and interns capable of turning out enough voters to deliver a margin of victory within their assigned turf.

Quinn Nystrom has spent her life fighting for accessible healthcare and affordable prescription drug coverage. At 28, Quinn became the youngest person – and only woman at the time – to serve on the Baxter City Council. Now, Quinn is running for Congress to better represent the people of this district. Minnesota's 8th Congressional District is a longtime Democratic stronghold currently represented by a first term Republican congressman. Quinn has won the DFL endorsement and is unopposed in the Democratic primary.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Recruiting and training volunteers to engage in direct voter contact (e.g. phonebanking).
  • Managing and developing a large team of campaign interns.
  • Maintaining relationships with party leaders and activists within assigned turf.
  • Meeting and exceeding strict daily and weekly goals related to voter contact.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to discuss political issues and current events with voters and volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds.
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours including weekends and some nights.
  • Ability to relocate to the district immediately.
  • Reliable access to a vehicle and valid driver's license.
  • One cycle as a Field Organizer or campaign intern preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of Votebuilder/VAN preferred but not required.

Position will begin between September 1st and 15th. Compensation is ~$3000 per month with an additional healthcare stipend. To apply, please submit a resume with the subject line "Field Organizer Application" to Declan Falls, Field Director, at declan@quinnforcongress.com.
