Airbnb is looking to hire community organizers to advocate for Chicagoans' right to share their homes. These organizers would help organize, train and mobilize supporters in Chicago in order to help Chicago hosts have their voices heard. You will be joining an amazing team of fellow organizers working in cities around the country. Candidates should be willing to live in Chicago for the duration of this assignment.
Responsibilities:
● Recruiting, training, and managing advocates of home sharing into self sustaining grassroots teams
● Hitting or surpassing numeric organizing goals
● Building a network of supporters and advocates in the local business community
● Organizing events such as neighborhood meetings and trainings
Desired Qualities and Qualifications:
● Knowledge of Chicago politics and policy issues at a citywide and neighborhood level
● Proven record of using community organizing in political campaign, nonprofit, or other
relevant settings
● Be personable and able to connect with people in groups and in one on one settings
● Comfort with technology and using data to make decisions
● Willingness to travel
● Excellent written and verbal communication
● Meticulous organization skills
● A strong passion for home sharing and the sharing economy
This will be contract position, based in Chicago.
