Overview:

Purpose of the Position:
These positions will work within the National Activist Network to support organizing for the global Greenpeace oceans campaign to end overfishing and establish a network of fully protected marine reserves. This fellowship will include organizing college and high school campuses, recruitment of volunteers, contributing to campaign tactic design, assisting with trainings and general program logistics.We're looking for candidates with previous campaigning and/or experience, who are enthusiastic, self-motivated, extremely organized, and ready to help out with any task, large or small.
Additional Information:
Location:1 position in San Francisco and 1 position in DC
Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
- This position is a 9 month contract, starting in September/ early October 2015.
Responsibilities:
Work with National Activist Network team to provide support volunteer leaders working on our Oceans campaign
Volunteer recruitment and coaching
Online organizing through Greenwire, Greenpeace's online social network
Planning and running volunteer trainings
Administrative duties
- Support program logistics
Required Skills, Experience:
Strong communication skills - written and oral
Grassroots organizing experience
Comfortable with Microsoft Office suite & Google tools
Analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently and in teams
Ability to work on a fast-paced, often shifting campaign with many moving pieces
- Commitment to protecting the planet
Salary: $14/ hour, benefits included. 40 hours/week.
