Policy & Writing Associate on the Martin O'Malley for President Campaign
The O'Malley for President Campaign is seeking a Policy Associate to join the Policy Team. This individual will play a key role in creating forward-thinking, bold, and creative ideas that expand opportunity and equality in every community.
Job responsibilities include:
- Knowing and tracking the news of the day in real-time, and writing current events briefings for the Governor.
- Create policy Q&A for press briefings.
- Draft Governor's speeches, talking points, memos, op-eds, and other written materials.
- Edit policy and communications materials, including: policy White Papers; op-eds; tweets; press releases; talking points.
- Conduct policy research on major issues, including foreign policy, education, clean energy, economic growth, and more.
Requirements:
· At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in policy or professional writing/research. Relevant experience could include previous work at: advocacy NGOs; think-tanks; government; policy journalism outlets; political campaigns.
· Willingness to work on diverse set of issues and on rigorous schedule.
· Ability to work across multiple teams, including Communications, Fundraising, Digital, and Policy.
