The Democratic Party of Washington County is hiring an organizer for a five-month contract that may be extended through April, 2016 if additional funding is secured. We want to get ready for the 2016 election cycle by reaching out to strong Democrats in Washington County to get them involved in our county party.
Job Description
Under the direction of the DPWC Executive Committee, the organizer's duties shall include:
1. Developing and implementing a voter outreach program
2. Developing a program of new member and volunteer recruitment and orientation.
3. Assisting in the creation of newsletters and social media content advancing the party's message.
4. Organizing and running new community service projects.
5. Attending all meetings of the Executive Committee, party membership, community forums and fundraisers and assisting as needed.
6. Assist in party fundraising activities.
7. Perform other tasks as requested by the Executive Committee.
Experience and Skills Required
Prior progressive political or community organizing experience, including volunteer recruitment and retention.
Fundraising experience
Excellent written and oral communication skils
Facility with VAN, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Constant Contact, FaceBook, Wordpress
Commitment to progressive Democratic Values
