Position Summary
The Program Director, Candidate Ready Development develops and executes candidate ready workshops, programs, trainings, and events in partnership with the Leadership Development and Design team, to ensure members who so desire become impactful elected leaders. This Program Director also creates content and resources for members and provides staff training on the program curriculum in order to execute effective programming across the country. The Program Director, Candidate Ready Development, reports to the Senior Director, Candidate Ready Development.
Ultimately the Program Director, Candidate Ready development supports LEE members who are confident in their abilities to articulate a vision for change, match that to the appropriate electoral opportunity, and build the power necessary to win and lead as an elected official and to transform the lives and educations of children throughout the nation.
Position Location: Flexible; Phoenix, Denver, Los Angeles, DC, or Bay Area preferred
Requirements, Skills, Knowledge, Abilities & Competencies
- Bachelor's Degree required
- At least 7 years professional experience required
- Experience working in campaigns required, especially in supporting candidates or as a candidate for elected office (at least three campaign cycles)
- Experience developing content and resources for adult learners and coaches
- Strong training and facilitation skills, including a thorough understanding of adult learning principles and effective training methodologies, especially with a diversity, equity and inclusion lens
- Experience coaching leaders and playing a role in their long-term leadership development
- Proven ability to build and leverage relationships with diverse audiences and partners
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Demonstrated ability to plan strategically, prioritize time, and manage implementation of plans in fast-paced, entrepreneurial, changeable environments
- Demonstrated success in tracking and analyzing metrics efficiently and effectively
- Flexible schedule, including willingness to travel and ability to work evening and weekend hours, as needed
