Elected Official in Westchester County, New York, seeks a full-time Correspondence Assistant.
Ideal candidate is a self starter with excellent writing and people skills. Candidate will perform a wide range of duties which include writing official correspondence in an active elected official's office and attending community events with elected official.
EXAMPLES OF WORK (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY):
Conduct research to gather information to accurately write official proclamations, certificates and letters
Respond to incoming correspondence via mail, email and other forms
Attend community events with elected official
Follow up with appropriate staff members regarding information obtained in the field (ie. scheduling matters, constituent service cases etc).
Represent elected official at community events
Manage databases
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
College degree preferred
Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
At least one year of related work experience
Must have a flexible schedule - night and weekend work is expected
Must have a valid driver's license - car preferred
Excellent attention to detail
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet required deadlines
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Proficient in Microsoft office applications
Ability to maintain sensitive information
