Climate Action Campaign Digital Creative Lead (Washington, DC)
Job purpose
Climate Action Campaign (CAC), a coalition of environmental organizations and extended allies, seeks a dynamic and creative digital leader to direct branding initiatives and provide design and digital organizing support in service of defending the Clean Power Plan from Congressional opposition and assisting with implementation efforts at the state level.
Duties and responsibilities
The Digital Creative Lead will be expected to:
· Design and provide support for share graphics, field materials, website assets, reports, signage and t-shirts
· Propose coalition-wide branding initiatives around campaign arcs and response efforts
· Refine brand guidelines and update corresponding style guide
· Work with the Digital Engagement Manager to support copy writing, and coordinate the scheduling and distribution of materials
· Consult on partner projects and provide support as needed
· Establish and propagate digital design best practices within the larger environmental community
· Maintain and promote a community wide database of design resources
· Provide basic design training and support to other digital staffers
· Help other departments identify the opportunity to leverage your skills
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess most or all of these qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years of relevant digital experience
- Proficient understanding of design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
- Ability to distill complex ideas into easily conveyed images and succinct copy
- Experience crafting campaigns that generate action across email and social media
- Track record of delivering quality results to spec under tight timelines
- Strong writing and editing background
- Familiarity with content management systems such as Salsa and Action Network
- Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of stakeholders
- Basic HTML skills
- A base-level understanding of analytics and a desire to incorporate those learnings into campaign efforts
- A passion for driving action on climate change
