Position Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, passionate, and ambitious digital professional to join an organization working to reimagine the rules of America's social and economic policies. Fresh off a comprehensive rebrand and new web site launch, the Senior Digital Associate will have a key role in reimagining digital strategy for a think tank and national student and alumni network.
The Senior Digital Associate will develop and implement integrated digital campaigns to elevate the work of fellows, staff, students, and alumni; manage Roosevelt social media properties, the Roosevelt web site, and Roosevelt contact lists; develop and implement a strategic email program to reach key audiences and funders; and work with the development team to increase online giving and communications with funders and prospective funders.
Roosevelt works on a wide range of projects addressing economic inequality, financialization, the future of work, race and gender discrimination, and policy proposals written and enacted by college students across the country. The Senior Digital Associate reports to the Vice President and Strategic Communications Director and serves on a team with the Graphic Designer, Senior Communications Associate, and Editorial Manager.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement industry-leading integrated digital campaigns to elevate the work of fellows, staff, students, alumni, and the overall Roosevelt profile and meet key Roosevelt Institute goals.
- Manage Roosevelt social media properties and the Roosevelt website on a daily basis—including upkeep of an editorial calendar.
- Manage the development and upkeep of multiple Roosevelt lists.
- Develop and implement a strategic email program to reach key audiences and funders.
- Research opportunities to target new audiences and set/reach growth goals.
- Work with development team to write, produce, and send constituent emails for outreach, engagement, and fundraising.
- Develop key metrics and provide ongoing analysis of Roosevelt's digital strategy, making suggested revisions to strategy as needed.
- Manage and maintain vendor accounts related to digital strategy.
- Build alliances with digital leads from partner organizations.
- Promote Roosevelt work to key digital influentials.
- Support Roosevelt projects and initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience in digital strategy or related field.
- In-depth understanding of web/online communications strategy and the latest technologies to enhance the profile and work of Roosevelt.
- Familiarity with CMS and CRM systems.
- Experience with Nationbuilder, WordPress, and Salesforce.
- Experience with managing substantial contact lists and growing contact lists.
- Self-driven working style and ability to juggle multiple projects at a time.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and new technologies.
- Familiarity with web analytics.
- Digital marketing and fundraising expertise.
- Ability to translate tech-speak to non-tech co-workers.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Keen attention to organization, detail, and deadlines.
- Passion for the mission of the Roosevelt Institute.
- Interest in policy issues.
- Familiarity with basic graphic design and photo editing preferred.
