Position Description
We are looking for a Program Coordinator for LEE's Leadership Development & Design (LDD) team. The Coordinator is responsible for helping to plan and execute a set of leadership development trainings, workshops and fellowships focused on diversity, equity and inclusion, including generating interest and demand for LEE programs through regular outreach to and communication with LEE members, coordinating program logistics, and implementing systems and processes to support other teams.  

This role requires exceptional attention to detail, and an ability to create systems and document best practices to ensure we are constantly learning, improving, and developing ways to work more efficiently.  The Coordinator needs to exercise strong judgment in responding to questions, trouble-shooting problems, and flagging issues for other team members as needed.  Finally, the Coordinator will need to successfully build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including other staff at LEE, our members, Teach For America staff, and other partner organizations. 
 
Position Location: San Francisco/Bay Area, Washington, DC, or Phoenix preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the coordination and execution of programming for LEE members with an emphasis on programs focused on diversity, equity and inclusion 
  • Conduct outreach for LEE's trainings, workshops and fellowship programs, including identifying members who might be suitable for these opportunities, creating standardized recruitment materials and processes, and assessing the effectiveness of our outreach
  • Support program logistics, including identifying and securing space and arranging travel, lodging, meals, and transportation
  • Help manage application and registration processes and track program data for a subset of LEE's trainings, workshops and fellowship programs 
  • Support individual program participants by tracking submission of assignments, setting up online communities, and coordinating group conference calls and webinars
  • Enter and analyze pre- and post-survey data collected from members participating in LEE's leadership programs 
  • Develop and format materials for LEE's programming, including PowerPoint presentations, online surveys and other documents
  • Support team members on research and special projects, as needed 
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements, Skills, Knowledge, Abilities & Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in politics, policy, advocacy, organizing or civic engagement, at any level
  • Campus/extracurricular leadership experience preferred; previous leadership training or fellowship experience a plus
  • Experience participating in or working on programming with a diversity, equity and inclusion lens
  • Exceptional organizational skills and detail orientation
  • Drafting and editing effective, streamlined and error-free communications
  • Coordinating multiple projects with diverse stakeholders and tight deadlines
  • Strong research skills
  • Strong creativity and ability to implement innovative ideas to improve process management
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders 
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word 
  • Experience working with an online constituent relationship management system (e.g. Salesforce) or another database a plus
