Position Summary
The key role for the Supporter Relations team within the larger Alliances Department is to fuel LEE's growth and success through ensuring that the organization has a stable network of donors, supporters and champions. The Director, Supporter Relations Strategic Priorities will be dedicated toward contributing to the goals of the Supporter Relations team, which includes managing a set of donor portfolio accounts to grow our donor base, advance the donor experience, and increase donor satisfaction and retention. This position will interface heavily with the Vice President of Alliances to support specific strategic priority initiatives, thought-partner on cultivation strategies for high value funders, and help manage the process. This is a writing intensive position as the Director of Supporter Relations, Strategic Priorities will develop donor collateral, proposals, and grant reports for portfolio accounts, as well as manage grant requirements and donor relationships.

Requirements, Skills, Knowledge, Abilities & Competencies
- Seven or more years of experience working in a donor relations/stewardship position in development, preferably in a higher education setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising principles, including working knowledge of gift processing and fund management and thorough knowledge of donor relations, donor recognition and donor stewardship
- Bachelor's degree required
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced, professional environment
- Superior writing skills to compose compelling stories and a variety of business correspondence in different mediums (e.g. Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, newsletter)
- Excellent verbal communications skills to convey information accurately and interact effectively and diplomatically with donors and other staff members
- Effective interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies are preferred
- Demonstrated organizational skills and superior attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in work; ability to organize material and information in a systematic way to optimize efficiency and minimize duplication effort
- Skill in working independently with minimal direction, with the ability to make independent judgments and/or decisions and to discern when action of a higher level is required
- Ability to manage, organize, plan and follow through on projects independently and/or under general guidance/supervision
- Ability to build and maintain accurate data systems
- Demonstrated proficiency in Salesforce CRM or equivalent development database and the use of databases to generate reports
- Ability to delegate tasks and oversee work performed by others
- Demonstrated skill in MS Office Suite
- Demonstrated ability to work with sensitive or confidential information in a discreet and professional manner
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and perform well with frequent interruptions and changing deadlines
