M+R is looking for a Senior Associate who is a media relations wiz to join our Communications & Advocacy division's DC or LA office.
The right person for this job will have 2-4 years of demonstrated experience in media relations. We need a communications know-it-all who wants to help progressive, public-interest nonprofits like the American Lung Association, ASPCA, MacArthur Foundation, Humanity United, and other groups reach their audiences, advance their issues, and change the world.
As a Senior Associate, you'll be responsible for leading earned media implementation efforts for M+R clients on a local, regional and national level. You'll use your creativity and tried-and-true best practices of media relations to get results.

You:
- Have 2-4 years of professional earned media, communications, or campaign experience (PR agency and LA/CA-background a plus).
- Can point to successful implementation of one or more public relations or media relations campaigns.
- Are an avid follower of current events and news.
- Can articulate your ideas in writing and in meetings.
- Are a collaborative team player who takes (and gives) feedback constructively.
- Set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You have a strong sense of ownership and urgency over projects.
- Are self-motivated, highly organized, and personable. Actually, you're kind of awesome and amazing.
The Job:
- Drive awareness of our clients and their issues by helping develop and carry out earned media strategies and campaigns. (AKA…do what it takes to get great press hits in outlets that matter for the wonderful organizations we work with.)
- Support client teams with day-to-day tasks that keep us organized and making progress.
- Presenting ideas and updates to clients.
- Contributing to communications plans.
