America Votes is the coordination hub of the progressive community. We lead collaborative efforts among a diverse coalition of over 400 state and national partner organizations to advance progressive policies, win elections, and protect every American's right to vote. Our organization works nationally and in more than 20 states to provide a range of services to our partners, including strategic planning, advocacy and electoral campaign coordination, data tools and targeting services, and on-the-ground leadership in key states. Position Description
America Votes is seeking an experienced individual for the full time position of Communications Manager. This position will report directly to the Managing Director, work closely with the President and closely interface with all heads of departments as well as America Votes State Directors. The Communications Manager will be responsible for a range of duties relating to both marketing and external press communications. The Communications Manager will help develop overall messaging and communications strategy for America Votes and should have a passion for writing and message development. This position will also manage all press communications both nationally and across the America Votes state network. In addition, the Communications Manager will responsible for ensuring brand consistency through management of internal product development including presentations, proposals, emails, and state plan and program overviews. Applicants should be comfortable working in a small, fast-paced, team oriented office and demonstrate flexibility, extreme attention to detail, and a commitment to progressive values and policies.

4 Social Media and Website Management
4 Product development (presentations, state reports, proposals, etc.)
4 Copy editing
4 Maintaining and ensuring brand consistency
Qualifications
4 Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in communications and marketing.
4 Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, speaking on the record, and negotiating with media.
4 Experience overseeing the design and production of products and materials on a deadline.
4 Strong written and oral communications skills.
4 Strong commitment to progressive values.
4 Campaign and state based work experience a plus.
4 Experience working in state or nationally with an America Votes partner organization a plus.
Compensation
Salary is competitive and negotiable. Dynamic benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance as well as a 401K.
