Get Out the Vote Coordinator For too long, Illinois politics have been controlled by the same special interests and well-connected insiders. But we're shaking things up by getting out new voters like never before.

BACKGROUND: In Chicago, we're running a progressive, grassroots get out the vote program to increase voter turnout among underrepresented voters in the March 15th Democratic primary election. With several high profile races in the city and all eyes on Chicago, news outlets across the state and country are waiting to see what the progressive movement in Chicago and Illinois can do. We are seeking a highly-qualified Get Out the Vote Coordinator to plan and execute a winning program to get young voters, voters of color and non-traditional voters to the polls. We know that every vote will count in this election, and you can help us ensure we amplify the voices of those most impacted by the issues at the forefront this election cycle.   YOU SHOULD BE: Experienced with campaigns or community organizing. The ideal candidate will have worked on or volunteered for previous campaigns, and have been part of a Get Out the Vote effort or two. Excited about working with a great canvass team. A good amount of your time will be spent working directly with canvassers and organizers—you should enjoy working with and training all sorts of people. Metrics-driven. Everything we do is focused on turning out tons of new voter in March. Experienced with a voter database. Extra points if you have previous experience with NationBuilder or VoteBuilder. Able to work in teams while being independently-driven. You'll work closely with our small team of staff and larger group of canvassers, yet you should also be self-directed and able to conceive of and write plans on your own. Dedicated and committed. You should be ready to work long and irregular hours as needed—it will be fun (we promise), but you'll be working a lot through the March 18th election.

Responsibilities will include: Designing and implementing our campaign's Get Out The Vote program and plan, in coordination with the Campaign Coordinator and Field Director. Training, organizing and supervising volunteers in the campaign's Get Out the Vote phase. Meeting voter contact goals set by the Campaign Coordinator and Field Director. Pay and Duration This is a well paid 1-month position that starts right away and concludes after our March 15th, 2016 Election Day.
