Maine Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense is hiring a campaign Data Manager to support the efforts of the ballot initiative campaign. The Data Manager is an essential member of the field team in Maine. The Data Manager will manage the day-to-day voter file needs of the campaign. This position is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the database and working with the field team. The ideal candidate is an independently motivated leader who can demonstrate exceptional data skills (particularly in the VAN: Voter Activation Network), offer useful and relevant strategic insight to campaign leadership, and has experience meeting hard deadlines under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of users in VAN
  • Administers and updates campaign data across several the state.
  • Conducts voter targeting and analysis (with emphasis on the application of microtargeting, demographic and geographic factors)
  • Interprets and analyzes data to help inform campaign strategy, including conducting extensive research and producing detailed graphs, charts and maps.
  • Trains necessary data, canvass, and organizing staff on how to use the database.
  • Creating and maintaining survey questions, activist codes and other VAN infrastructure;
  • Creating shared searches and targets in conjunction with Field Director

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be self-motivated, goal-oriented, and have a strong commitment to accountability.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and projects and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work long hours, including nights and weekends, in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ideal candidate will be proficient in technology such as NGP-VAN, Microsoft Excel, and Google Docs.
  • Passion for the organization's mission.
  • 2 cycles of campaign experience.
