Overview
Several regional/municipal candidates & campaigns in the South Bay/San José are seeking campaign manager for the June 7, 2016 Primary (w/potential thru Nov.) - hiring immediately.  San José is America's 10th largest city, Santa Clara is home to Silicon Valley, (Apple, Google, Facebook) and NFL's Super Bowl 50.  Great opportunity to become more involved in your community or Bay Area politics.  Campaigns & candidates are supportive of Democrats, labor unions & working families, progressive values - seeking candidates with similar perspectives.  


Responsibilities

Campaign Manager (CM) responsibilities & duties include but not limited to the day-to-day operations, assist the candidate or campaign team with field, communications, volunteers, events and all aspects of the campaign.  CM will interact with the community through email, phone, canvassing and in attendance at various community events/meetings.  Recruiting volunteers, data analytics, and interacting w/community leaders, influential coalition partners and endorsers.  The CM will serve as lead & primary staff in support of or on behalf of the candidate or campaign. CM will also work with the consultant to help execute campaign plans & strategies.


Qualified Candidates should:

⇒Be highly organized, outgoing, and motivated.  Be a team-builder, out-going and motivating.

⇒Be capable of working in a high-intensity & demanding work environment - and multitasking.

⇒Have strong verbal & written skills and familiarity with social media - college degree preferred

⇒Have general knowledge about elections/campaigns/politics, regional issues, social media - prior campaign experience desired but not required


Preferred candidates have strong communication skills, experience in public/quasi-public affairs and knowledge of government/community.  Applicants with campaign or communications skills & experience should apply.  Expectation of working long hours.  Reliable transportation required.  For candidates out of the area, housing assistance may be available, but limited.  

Bi/multi-lingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply (Spanish, Vietnamese & Tagalog)


Salary: Compensation will be based on experience.
