FRANKLIN FORUM
The Franklin Forum is a media training and messaging organization that coaches TV pundits, non-profit leaders – and through the Franklin Forum PAC, political candidates – on communications strategy.
POSITION
The Researcher will assist senior staff and consultants with identifying record, media, issue and qualitative and quantitative data research. Duties will include conducting background research, drafting memos, and reviewing written products for accuracy. The position requires meticulous attention to detail, a logical and analytical approach to work, the ability to adapt quickly to changing needs, and strong research and writing skills.
Successful candidates will have excellent research, some communications and organizational skills, familiarity with MS Office, an interest in public opinion research, and a strong familiarity with progressive movement organizations.
Responsibilities:
- Working as part of team to produce research-based written products;
- Collecting information from public opinion research, news clips, and research databases;
- Reporting results and findings to senior staff;
- Drafting talking points and memos;
- Providing support for training program, including researching potential participants,
- Working with allied organizations to learn about policy and political developments and nuances; and
- Other duties as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Interest in progressive public policy or organizational work, demonstrated commitment to promoting progressive values and causes, and public policy development;
- Exemplary written communications skills;
- Exemplary research skills;
- Attention to detail;
- Self-motivated with a track record of problem solving;
- Sense of humor, ability to have fun, interest in building a strong culture and high performing team;
- Ability to work with diverse populations and institutions;
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and multi-task without sacrificing detail, quality or deadlines; and,
- Bachelor's degree required.
