Lillian's List Action Fund is hiring a Development and Program Manager.
This position involves program development and delivery for campaign staffers, fundraising, and communications, with a special emphasis on development services.
Development & Program Manager reports to the Deputy Director to successfully execute online communications and fundraising activities including both online acquisition and relationship development. This position collaborates with both the Executive Director and Deputy Director to train and place professional campaign staff on targeted races
The individual will direct the Development and Communications Associate to ensure the organization has a multi-channel online presence, including the website, email marketing, website optimization, social media, third-party giving applications and other special projects. Individual is responsible for providing overall fundraising goals inclusive of strategy and planning. Applicant should be able to wear many hats as needed.
Responsibilities
- Directs the donor database system, including data entry of donors, prospects, and gifts; and create tracking systems, reports, and queries in NGP. The Development Associate provides the Deputy Director with reports needed to run the organization and provides quarterly membership reports to the Board of Directors.
- Directs the membership renewal process which includes direct mail, and email.
- Directs the logistics of event planning. This person is responsible for sending invoices to sponsors and maintaining the attendee list, preparing name tags, registration lists, and managing all aspects of registration for events.
- Directs the production of invitations for events, including designing the invitation, ordering, and coordinating the mail house distribution.
- Researches prospective individuals and PAC's.
- Maintains supplies as needed to support the Development Departments.
- Manages scheduling and production of multi-channel fundraising campaigns including email marketing, social media, website updates and special projects.
- Collaborates with Executive Director and Deputy Director to develop content, including message development, calls to action, event promotion and featured candidate promotion, for website, email and social media.
- Proofreads and edit content to ensure quality.
- Directs online relationships with members and other constituents to increase engagement (primarily via email and Facebook).
- Develop segmentation strategies for email marketing and fundraising.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical glitches with website, email, and social media providers.
- Use technology to further optimize communications and development operations.
- Perform other duties and special projects as directed.
- Lead the targeting of districts and recruitment of campaign staffers to strategically grow the power of progressive, pro-choice women in North Carolina.
- Communicate on a regular basis with campaign staffers.
- Oversee the Campaign School that trains political staff for work on targeted campaigns.
- Build strong relationship with key organizational allies across the state and nationally. Ensure that the Lillian's List Action Fund's impact is maximized.
- Serve as one of the organization's representative for America Votes.
- Travel across the state for trainings, meetings, and events, as needed.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressively responsible work experience Fundraising skills and the ability to communicate with donors 1-3 years of experience in online marketing and communications.
- Experience with managing a website using a content management system
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Experience managing and monitoring email newsletters and campaigns using an online email marketing program. Experience with NGP Van preferred.
- A keen sense of political acumen forged by multiple cycles of high-level campaign experience
- Experience leading trainings, presentations, and donor meetings with diverse audiences
- Fluency in political and campaign tools, including digital tools, specifically VAN.
- Ability to travel and be available off hours as needed
- Minimum education requirement of Bachelor's degree
Technical Skills
- Excellent internet and social media skills including Facebook, YouTube and Twitter
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
- NGP and VAN experience
- Basic proficiency with HTML needed to troubleshoot website formatting and email formatting
- Ability to manage PDFs, edit photos, create graphics and edit pages
The job is located in Raleigh, NC. This is a full-time exempt position with benefits.
