[jobsthatareLEFT] Digital Project Manager, Everytown for Gun Safety, New York City

DIGITAL PROJECT MANAGER

Everytown for Gun Safety, the largest gun violence prevention advocacy group in the country, is expanding its project management and web development capabilities to support our ground-breaking legislative, fundraising, and research campaigns.

We're seeking a skilled project manager who can take high-profile digital products and websites from conception to launch — managing agencies and freelancers, and coordinating across the senior leadership, communications, research and digital departments. You'll be responsible for helping launch projects as varied as a gun safety awareness microsite, a legislator call tool, and an online gun sale interactive report. Requires familiarity of all aspects of digital advocacy including: creative design, front-end development, CMS / CRM management, and site administration. We're looking for a project manager, not a coder.

The position is based in New York City and reports to the Director of Digital Content Strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage web development teams, designers, vendors, and internal resources to gather requirements and facilitate project delivery on schedule.
  • Think strategically about how we can use digital tools to impact change.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
  • Keep detailed timelines and project plans for all deliverables and milestones.
  • Assure quality control for all deliverables.
  • Ensure all projects and associated documents are properly archived and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Provide post launch analysis on all major projects, and recommend ways to optimize existing technical assets.
  • Promote and ensure a culture of security across all web assets and accounts, managing Enterprise Last Pass and training staff on best practices.
  • Report and escalate all issues to management as needed.
  • Train campaign staff on utilizing online organizing and research tools.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of experience project managing digital projects or products with proven skills in creating efficient processes, ensuring clear communications with key stakeholders and delegating responsibilities.
  • Believes one need not choose between form and function.
  • Knowledge of effective web design and development best practices including responsive design.
  • Desire to excel in a setting with many competing projects, tight deadlines and long hours.
  • Ability to communicate technical and complex information easily verbally and in writing.
  • CMS experience with WordPress, Drupal, or other software.
  • Passion for the intersection of beautiful design and brilliant tech.
  • Interest in the advocacy, political or non-profit sector.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Comfortable in a sometimes hectic open-plan office.
  • Sense of humor.

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Project Management Coursework / Certification
  • Experience managing complex projects and teams using project management software such as Basecamp or Asana.
  • Basic knowledge of modern Web Standards (HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, etc).
  • Proven working experience in project management in the information technology sector.
