Lead Organizing Managers

(Ohio, Florida, Colorado, and Virginia)

***This position is similar to a Regional Field Director or Deputy Field Director on political campaigns***

Acadia Consulting, LLC is working with AARP to recruit Lead Organizers to join its Take A Stand Social Security campaign. Take A Stand is a nonpartisan advocacy campaign working in battleground states to engage AARP members and the public to encourage Presidential candidates to commit to updating Social Security for the 21st century. The Social Security Trustees have warned that Social Security recipients will receive a 25% cut – which is about $10,000 annually for the average retiree. AARP believes it is a test of Presidential leadership to have a strong plan to resolve this crisis now and we are looking for individuals to join this game–changing campaign. To learn more, visit the campaign website: 2016takeastand.org

Lead Organizers will supervise and provide training support for a team of Field Organizers that will engage current AARP members and seek to organize them to become active volunteers. Field staff will train, establish, and support volunteer teams, with the aims of creating public interest and influencing stakeholders and other targets to take action. Organizers will engage members through tactics such as phone banking, canvassing, online digital engagement, and in-person events. Various forms of paid media will support all efforts.

These positions will be based in cities to be determined and operate through November 2016 with the opportunity to extend. The national campaign will be based in Washington, DC. This position will start between April 15 - April 30.
