Program Coordinator (Part Time)
Background
The Florida Institute for Reform and Empowerment (F.I.R.E.) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that both trains and develops leaders and organizes families in low-to moderate-income communities in Florida. Our vision is for these communities to become critically engaged in the political system in order to create a more just and equitable society.
Opportunity
FIRE seeks a highly motivated, talented, and dynamic individual to serve as the Program Coordinator for FIRE in Orlando. The program coordinator will be responsible for overseeing all FIRE programs and will be reporting to the program director.
Responsibilities
· Programs
o Achieve and track program goals in close collaboration with Program Director, ensuring that obligations to stakeholders are fulfilled and/or exceeded
o Plan and implement recruitment and training plan for Leadership Academy Series
o Find and coordinate speakers for Leadership Academy sessions
o Coordinate all logistics for Monthly Politics and Potluck series, including recruiting speakers and attendees
o Develop relationships with Leadership Academy graduates for future opportunities
o Writing detailed reports about programming activities in a timely fashion
· Partnerships
o Establish new and maintain existing partnerships with community organizations
o Ensure that FIRE is represented effectively at community events in order to improve community relations, build FIRE's list and brand
Key Qualifications
· Commitment and passion for social, racial and gender justice;
· Self-motivated – proven ability to work independently
· Ability to be a team player and work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment
· Excellent communication skills
· Dedication and ability to work flexible hours
