A top tier State Senate race located in Miami, Florida is seeking a detail-oriented, professional, experienced Finance Director. With State Senate redistricting complete, Florida Democrats will be running the largest operation in Florida's history. National attention is now focused on Florida's State Senate with the prospect of flipping the Chamber insight.
Applicants must have campaign finance experience, the ability to interact with high-level donors, keep a finance plan, manage call time, and plan fundraisers. The applicant must also have the ability to relocate to Miami immediately, a bachelor's degree, proficiency in NGP, a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, the ability to pass a background check, and a willingness to work long, irregular hours and holidays. Outside employment is prohibited. This is not an entry level position.
Key Responsibilities
§ Knowledge of State and Federal Campaign Finance Law.
§ Proficiency in data management, political/fundraising database, NGP, Googledocs and Excel
§ Ability and willingness to communicate with staff members, elected officials, vendors, and lobbyists by phone, email and in person
§ Preparing, staffing and following-up on call time with principals
§ Professional demeanor and comfort level in social situations
§ Excellent writing skills
§ Implantation of a campaign finance plan to reach a six to seven figure budget
Qualifications/Requirements:
§ This position requires at least one whole previous cycle as a finance director or deputy finance director
§ Experience with raising a six to seven figure budget
§ Capable of acclimating to a fast-paced, high-stakes environment quickly
§ English and Spanish strongly preferred
§ Must have demonstrated ability to work with diverse communities, serve as a team leader, and maintain a sense of humor.
