The mission of Florida 501(c)3 Civic Engagement Table is to create a more robust democracy by increasing the civic participation of historically underrepresented communities in Florida. We develop infrastructure, foster collaboration among diverse entities, and employ new tools and technology to harness opportunities to transform the electorate and improve the election system. The Florida 501(c)3 Civic Engagement Table is the Florida affiliate of State Voices.

About State Voices

State Voices is a national network of permanent, nonpartisan, state-based coalitions working to create a more accessible, inclusive, and representative democracy by amplifying the voices of traditionally marginalized and underrepresented communities, often referred to as the New American Majority, and building the strength of the organizations and leaders that serve them. 

Position Overview

The Florida 501(c)3 Civic Engagement Table Quality Control Coordinator positions are temporary, full-time positions through Mid-October 2016 that will assist our table partners in conducting voter registration programs that meet the highest possible standards. By conducting independent verification of voter registration practices and compiling data on program results, each Quality Control Coordinator will generate reports identifying strengths and areas of improvement for partners to use in improving the effectiveness and accuracy of their activities.

This position will maintain relationships with organizations engaging in non-partisan civic engagement in communities of color. The role of each Quality Control Coordinator is to support the organizations' efforts through data management and analysis, independent verification of field activities, and training. The position is full-time and reports to the State Data and Targeting Manager.

Responsibilities include:

     Data management: Work with SV staff and partners to ensure relevant data points from voter registration programs are captured and entered into a database;

     Independent Verification: Conduct activities to ensure results of partner voter registration programs are accurate;

     Reporting: Compile results of verification efforts and analysis of data points into regular reports indicating programmatic trends, best practices, and recommendations for improvement;

     Training and Technical Assistance: Provide training and assistance to partners on incorporating recommendations generated from quality reports;

     Communication with Partners: Maintain frequent communication with the partner organization which they serve as well as provide programmatic feedback and alerts; 

     Communicating with Voters: Answer voter questions regarding election-related information, and represent the partner organizations to their registration applicants; and

     Other responsibilities as assigned.

 Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this position will possess many, if not all, of the following qualifications:

     A strong commitment to the civic engagement of historically underrepresented communities. 

     An understanding of voter registration programs and at least 1 year's experience in labor, political, or community organizing and political campaigns.

     Bilingual fluency (English and Spanish).

     Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects at once.

     Detail-oriented and able to develop efficient systems to deliver intended results.

     Ability to work well under pressure, detail oriented, and meet deadlines. 

     Excellent organizational, time-management, oral and written communications skills. 

     Comfortable placing a large number of phone calls.

     Ability to work diplomatically in a coalition setting, delivering results from a diverse set of stakeholders that you do not directly oversee.

    Skilled with Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Docs, and Dropbox. 

    Ability to quickly learn and use an online database platform.

Compensation:  $15.00 per hour; benefits included.
