[jobsthatareLEFT] New Era Colorado Foundation & New Era Colorado Action Fund seek an Advocacy Director

New Era Colorado Foundation & New Era Colorado Action Fund seek an Advocacy Director.

Job description & application instructions:

About New Era Colorado Foundation & New Era Colorado Action
New Era is an innovative nonprofit organization that works to reinvent politics for young people, mobilizing and empowering a new generation to participate in our democracy to make Colorado a better place for everyone. We have three core program areas: civic engagement, advocacy, and leadership development. We register and turn out thousands of young voters every year, work on issues like election access, economic justice and climate change at the state and local level, and train hundreds of young leaders to create change. Since our founding, we've registered more than 100,000 young voters, passed policies like online voter registration, and given out probably more than 20,000+ buttons that say "Vote, F*cker" on them (good, right?). And along the way, we got more than a million views on our Campaign for Local Power video, got named "Campaign of the Year" by New Organizing Institute in 2013, and taught ourselves how to make Where's Waldo costumes on the cheap for voter registration.

What we're looking for:
New Era Colorado Foundation and New Era Colorado Action Fund are seeking a full-time Advocacy Director to advance advocacy programs and campaigns on our priority issues.

We're seeking a committed, resourceful individual who is passionate about social justice to spearhead New Era's advocacy work, including our work at the legislature, on ballot measures, and in other arenas as well. The Advocacy Director will work closely with New Era's Organizing Director and Executive Director to design strategic campaigns, and will manage campaign implementation, execution, and evaluation, as well as oversee the majority of New Era's communications work. This person will collaborate with coalitions within the progressive movement, train young people to tell their stories to our elected officials, and design creative ways for New Era and our base to move the ball forward on economic justice, climate change, election access and abortion rights in Colorado. The Advocacy Director will be a member of New Era's leadership team.

To apply:
Please email your resume, cover letter, and three references as a single PDF attachment (all of those documents in one single PDF) to advocacydirector@Neweracolorado.org, to the attention of Lizzy Stephan. In your cover letter, please describe why you want to do this job in particular at New Era and please indicate where you found this job posting. Your references should be people we can contact about you (preferably your former employers/managers), and you should include name, title, phone, and email address for each person.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Priority deadline is Friday, June 10th, 2016 but this position will be open until filled. No calls please.
