Highly competitive and nationally watched Long Island Area Congressional race is seeking Field Organizers. Field Organizers will be responsible for recruiting, training, and developing relationships with volunteers to lead efforts aimed at persuading and turning out voters. Organizers will develop key skills in leadership, organization, and most importantly community organizing.
Applicants should be committed to Democratic values and be willing to put in the necessary work to win. Applicants must be able to join the team immediately.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to implement the Campaign Field Plan
- Develop and maintain relationships with community leaders and volunteers
- Empower volunteers to develop into leadership roles within the program
- Conduct outreach to community organization to increase size and scope of program.
- Lead voter contact and field efforts in assigned region.
Qualification
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to meet tight and competing deadlines, and the ability to manage many tasks simultaneously
- Working knowledge of political campaign structure and familiarity with campaign technology
- Ability to work long and irregular hours, including nights and weekends
- Previous campaign experience is preferred, but not required
- Bilingual is a plus
