REGIONAL ORGANIZER (Mid-Atlantic)
The PeaceWorks Foundations (PWF) and OneVoice Movement (OV) seek a Regional Organizer for the Mid Atlantic area. The Mid-Atlantic Regional Organizer will join the OneVoice U.S. team to support OneVoice's Campus Fellowship Program and OneVoice on Campus activities.
The position is based in New York City and will be responsible for organizing work on campuses in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts. The Mid Atlantic Regional Organizer will work under the supervision of the Executive Director while working closely with OneVoice's Regional Directors in the Midwest and Northeast regions.
The position requires an enthusiastic, self-motivated person who has the ability to work both within a team and individually. Leadership development, training, presentation and recruitment skills are at the core of this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reach out and build connections with individuals and groups on university campuses in the Mid Atlantic area of the United States.
- Attract and recruit interested students to take part in OneVoice's on Campus Fellowship program with the aim of building a strong movement on campus.
- Design and oversee training sessions and seminars to prepare fellows for their role on campus.
- Organize and oversee information sessions, events, and activism on campus as well as supervise and manage OV Fellow teams on the different campuses in the Mid-Atlantic region as they work to establish thriving campus chapters.
- Conduct community outreach in the Mid-Atlantic to introduce communities to OV's work and work with allied groups with similar values in order to build community ties and accelerate our impact.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience in organizing, community outreach, or grassroots activism (a campus organizing background is a plus.)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure and in challenging environments.
- Ability to communicate messaging in a strong and a persuasive manner, including public speaking.
- Leadership development and volunteer management skills and a passion for working with college students.
- Previous knowledge of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and dynamics on U.S. campuses.
- Knowledge of and belief in OneVoice's mission and vision.
- A bachelor's degree is required; preferably in the Social Sciences or a related field.
Compensation: Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and skills and includes a competitive fringe benefits package including medical, dental and vision coverage.
