Proposition DD is seeking enthusiastic door-to-door canvassers to help educate voters about real affordable housing solutions on the November ballot. Help make positive change by talking to neighbors about how their vote will make a difference. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants experience on political campaigns during a major election year!
When is it: Through November 8th, 2016. Flexible hours available Tuesday - Sunday 11 am - 8pm, at least $17/hour.
What is it: Hands-on campaign work talking with San Jose voters about the importance of voting in November
Responsibilities:
Learning a voter contact script and providing Berkeley residents with reliable information on casting a ballot
Knocking doors and meeting your contact goals every day, with evening and weekend shifts common
Accurate data collection and map navigation through a mobile app
Maintaining a positive and welcoming attitude, speaking clearly
Transporting yourself reliably to different parts of Berkeley
Ability to answer general questions about voting and registering to vote
Qualifications and Requirements:
Personable and energetic team player, passionate for social change and education
Organizational skills and ability to meet strict goals and deadlines
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must speak English fluently, Spanish and Vietnamese language skills a plus
Must commit to at least 15 hours a week
Reliable transportation required
Comfortable with mobile technology
Experience in a customer service oriented role or campaigns preferred, but not required
Physical requirements include the ability to work outdoors for multiple hours at a time
