[jobsthatareLEFT] Impact NE Regional Organizing Director

Northeast Regional Organizing Director

Summary:
Impact is a project of leading advocacy organizations, that creates the action, energy and power it takes to make an impact on important issues. We run field campaigns for groups like Environment America and U.S. PIRG. No single day with Impact looks quite like another. Campaign tactics like running a petition drive or persuading a local group to work with you will keep you on your feet and on the go. But, organizers also need to leverage your work online. They may find themselves recruiting new community groups to join a clean water coalition, organizing a news event on 100 percent renewable energy, meeting with an editorial board about the overuse of antibiotics on factory farms, or building an online following for a campaign to stop factory farms from polluting our water.

The Northeast Organizing Director leads a team of organizers based in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. As an organizing director, you will oversee staff, plan campaigns with our partners, raise funds to support Impact, and participate in recruiting and hiring new organizers. During the summer, you'll run a campaign office, building the organization by canvassing and training others to canvass. The Organizing Director can be based in Boston, MA, New York, NY, or New Brunswick, NJ and will report directly to the Denver-based Executive Director.

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced organizer and manager who is ready to travel, can juggle multiple campaigns and state political profiles, and will roll up their sleeves and jump right in to doing the work alongside their staff.

Your organizers will work on several campaigns ranging from environmental protection and public health to consumer protection and money in politics.

Qualifications:
You are passionate about organizing and movement building. You are ambitious, a leader, and have a track record of accomplishment.
