The Suffolk County Democratic Committee is accepting applications for a Deputy Field Director to work in Suffolk County, NY during the 2017 election cycle. The Deputy Field Director will have the chance to work on an exciting and coordinated campaign and will gaining valuable experience in New York politics.
Responsibilities:
· Supporting the FD in daily management responsibilities on the ground
· Working and managing FO's to ensure strict metric goals are reached
· Work with the FD to develop and evaluate constituency outreach
· Conduct extensive coaching and development with staff on best practices for volunteer recruitment and retention.
· Assisting with staff recruitment, on boarding, and training.
Qualifications:
· Previous campaign field experience.
· Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required.
· Reliable transportation is required.
· Strong knowledge of Votebuilder/VAN, Microsoft Excel. Basic computer literacy and database skills.
· Ability to work long and irregular hours in a fast paced, metrics driven work environment.
· Ability to meet deadlines under pressure while handling multiple projects.
· Strong coaching skills and abilities.
· Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to successfully relate to voters and volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds.
