CFED is currently engaged in a number of large-scale projects with national scope to help expand financial inclusion for low-income households and promote innovations in the asset-building field. We seek a Graduate Student Intern to support CFED's Federal Policy team in this work from June 2017 to August 2017.
The internship will be paid, and interns will work a 40 hour per week schedule. Additional benefits include opportunities for personal and professional development through exposure to CFED's work, opportunities to participate in seminars and meetings, exposure to a number of other DC‐based asset‐building organizations and the chance to network with policy advocates and analysts that work at them, as well as mentorship by senior colleagues.
Essential Functions/Duties
- Provide policy research and analysis for a variety of financial security and economicopportunity issues, including homeownership, tax policy, entrepreneurship, emergency and higher education savings, financial capability, and consumer protection.
- Produce written policy materials (such as fact sheets and policy briefs) with guidance from members of the Federal Policy team.
- Blog about issues and events relevant to team priorities.
- Attend, take notes and report out on congressional hearings and meetings with staff,administrative and regulatory meetings, as well as other Washington, DC policy events.
- Other duties as assigned.
