Communications Director needed for Manhattan Borough President Campaign
Join an incredible team working to elect Mark Levine as Manhattan's next Borough President. Mark is a proven progressive who is a leading voice in the fight for affordable housing and has worked to protect tenants rights, responsible development and equity in schools, transit, parks and healthcare.
We're looking for a Communications Director to create and execute a press and digital strategy. The ideal candidate will have experience with local press, social media and/or digital organizing. Policy experience and/or interest a plus.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Implement strategic communications plans including earned and social media
Serve as liaison with the media. Proactively pitch stories and respond to inquiries
Write and edit media advisories, press releases, statements, op-eds, speeches, and other communications
Monitor, track and share news media daily
Prepare the Candidate for interviews and public speaking
Handle special projects
Requirements:
Press, social media or digital organizing experience
Campaign experience
Salary: $5,000/month
