Acadia Consulting is a bipartisan political consulting firm that provides strategy, research, and management services for advocacy and member engagement campaigns. While we recruit talent from all sides of the spectrum, we execute successful campaigns in a non-partisan manner. We are seeking a detail-orientated and highly motivated individual to join our team as the Operations 

Manager. The position will support staff working on campaigns across several states.


In addition to meeting the qualifications below, ideal candidates must be proactive, think outside the box, be capable of working collaboratively with co-workers, and be interested in working on policy issues of national importance.  We are looking for an outgoing, roll-up-the-sleeves individual who is capable of managing up, down and across an organization.


This is a full-time, term-limited position, based out of our Washington, DC office. Relocation expenses are not available.


You must be available to begin no later than April 1, 2017. This is a temporary position that will last through November 30, 2017 with a strong possibility of extension.


Reporting

This position will report to the Director of Operations and will have no direct reports.


Responsibilities

Financial management

  • Help create, track, and update presentation-ready campaign budgets for clients, principals, and staff
  • Track expenditures, process reimbursements, and implement cost controls
  • Ensure efficiency and sustainability in the execution of campaign tasks
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices

Human Resources

  • Help onboard new employees – e.g. prepare offer letters, disseminate and collect all appropriate new hire documentation, create new email accounts, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director and outside vendors to run payroll
  • Adhere to appropriate standards to ensure safekeeping and privacy of personally identifiable information (PII)
  • Ensure employees are aware and knowledgeable about company benefits, policies, and procedures
  • Schedule trainings and online seminars for employees with contracted HR Generalist
  • Support managers to resolve disputes or disagreements between employees
  • Help management establish and implement any appropriate procedures

Logistics

  • Organize travel logistics when necessary including flights and accommodations
  • Facilitate special events – e.g. research and reserve venues, meals, and etc.
  • Oversee distribution of campaign materials, office supplies and other resources to states

Qualifications

  • Minimum four years of professional work experience
  • Prior experience working in an operations capacity is required
  • Prior experience in advocacy work or political campaigns is preferred but not necessary
  • Must have a strong worth ethic with a proven ability to work independently
  • Must have an excellent attention to detail with proven ability to meet deadlines
  • A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, a team player
  • Positive attitude
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with technology (computers, smart phones, etc.), computer software (Microsoft Office), and the capacity to learn basic databases
