Location: This position can be located in our Washington DC office or our Phoenix AZ office (potential other location for the right candidate)
Salary Range: $80k – $95k (base) plus commission possibilities.

E Street Group LLC seeks a qualified candidate to serve as a Campaigns Director at our firm. This position will assist the partners of the firm and other directors with providing support for candidate and cause campaigns. Each client is different so some of your responsibilities may include consultant calls, guiding direct mail or digital strategy with clients, providing general consulting like services to a political campaign or running a full-blown outreach strategy for a cause campaign. Other firms may call this an Account Manager type position.
Paid Communications Process Management
Estimated percentage of time: 35%
For some of our political and cause campaigns we do everything – from direct mail and TV ads to their digital fundraising and campaign plans. Other campaigns we only have a component of that work. The responsibilities that may be on your plate include:
Manage production of fundraising email program, political direct mail, TV ads and digital persuasion and turnout spots
Coordinating between internal teams and external clients and ensuring that best practices for communications and our products are being used
Writing, editing, and creating copy and overseeing and supporting photo, TV and video shoots
Drafting candidate platforms, candidate or cause press releases and editing documents produced by other colleagues and ensuring everything is vetted by the Research Director
Campaign Service Support for Clients
Estimated percentage of time: 40%
Good consultants do their job. Great consultants go above and beyond. When we work with campaigns and causes we want to support every facet of their campaign and that ultimately means doing work that may be outside of the campaign scope but is vital to ensuring the campaign wins.
Writing, editing, modifying, creating and promoting campaign plans that are easily understood with strategic goals and objectives that are easily understood
Executing campaigns plan for cause campaigns or supporting political campaigns with the execution of their campaign plans; ensuring that partners, client staff and our internal team understands what is needed, under what deadlines and clear prioritization of work
Inspire, motivate, supervise, coordinate the work of all campaigners, action/ logistics staff and encourage them to be strategically focused on implementation of the plan
Develop and track multiple and complex budgets
Providing accountable metrics and qualitative reports to clients
Create cohesion and vision between consultants, the campaign team and our firm on campaign priorities
Helping recruit, train and coach a diverse campaign team to execute the plan
Relationship Maintenance and Growth for Firm, Clients and Prospects
Estimated percentage of time: 15%
Generate new leads – constantly be looking for new donors, information and data to grow fundraising program for all clients
Event attendance – attending events, when financially possible, to build relationships with donors, collect business cards, learn about donors and the issues they care about and plug the right candidate(s) to the donors
Skills Development
Estimated percentage of time: 10%
Looking for skill development opportunity, chances to be on the ground with the client and overall professional development
Cultivate a testing culture by approving experiments to test assumptions and figuring out the most effective way to achieve outcomes
Ensuring understanding of strategic data-driven decisions on where to invest resources, capacity and strategic programs to help ensure clients are meeting goals
Identify and capitalize on external opportunities to drive thought leadership, earned media and dissemination of learnings and intellectual property throughout the progressive community
Expectations
Most important quality for us is someone who has demonstrated experience winning campaigns and working collaboratively to achieve goals. You are always on the edge of your seat trying to do more for clients and always thinking about new opportunities for the firm. We need a colleague who loves data, reads about best practices in our industry and comparable industries on a daily and weekly basis and someone who lives their life committed to Progressive ideals.
You must have excellent verbal, written and analytical skills, demonstrated experience with Google suite, Excel and NGP/VAN and constant desire to do more, perfect the craft and manage up when something is needed.
You have managed a campaign before. You have been on the ground, built a team, managed a budget, collaborated with consultants and won (at least once). The people who worked for you would describe you as a coach, the consultants would describe you as whip smart and the candidate said you made their life miserable but they won.
You have strong familiarity with field, communications, digital and the consulting relationship. You have experience project managing innovative and impactful design projects whether on video, web or social media.
You have a demonstrated ability to think ahead,a commitment to data-driven program design and an entrepreneurial spirit that consistently looks for novel ways to approach problem.
On day one you will be ready to roll-up-your-sleeves, leave your ego at the door and collaborate with a great team to accomplish amazing things.
