Position Summary Progressive Turnout Project seeks an Organizing Director for the 2017 special election in Georgia's sixth congressional district.
-- Similar to the role of an Organizer on a congressional campaign, Organizing Directors oversee volunteer efforts in assigned congressional districts. Organizing Directors closely work with PTP's GA-06 District Director and are responsible for recruiting and managing volunteer. Organizing Directors are responsible for executing the volunteer component of the field plan, managing volunteers, and are accountable for all volunteer actions.
Qualifications:
• At least one cycle of field experience
• Experience recruiting and training volunteers
• Commitment to establishing a culture of community and respect
• Passion for electing Democratic candidates
• Organizational skills and ability to meet goals and strict deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with VAN, Microsoft Office, and Google Docs
• Access to a vehicle (frequent travel within congressional district)
• Creativity and outside-the-box thinking a plus Responsibilities
• Collaborate with PTP's District Director to create and implement an aggressive volunteer recruitment plan for Georgia's sixth congressional district
• Oversee execution of volunteer efforts in the district
• Recruit, train, and manage field volunteers
