The Virginia House Democratic Caucus seeks a Strategic Political Consultant to assist in transforming the House of Delegates by electing a substantial number of candidates in this fall's election and setting the stage to flip the chamber from Red to Blue in the next several cycles.
The position will begin on March 15 and end on November 15. The consultant shall work with present caucus staff to:
1. Develop and implement appropriate strategy in targeted races, including the 17 districts presently held by Republicans but were won by Hillary Clinton in November.
2. Utilize national and regional contacts to implement a robust caucus campaign financing plan that will raise over $3 million in this election cycle.
3 Develop and refine appropriate metrics by which the caucus can judge the viability of candidates in various districts and provide the resources necessary to enhance prospects for success.
4. Develop and refine election strategy in districts where Democrats are running, but face serious challenges based on history of the districts.
5. Assist in recruiting candidates.
6. Assist in providing strategic advice and logistical support to candidates.
7. Work with designated mail and media firms assisting candidates.
The consultant shall provide strategic and logistical support and advice to the caucus as determined.
The consultant will report directly to the caucus campaign committee. The consultant shall have experience in providing strategic advice to state caucuses as well as regional and national contacts sufficient to assist in fundraising. The salary shall be commensurate with experience. Applicants shall submit a resume and salary requirements to Trent Armitage at caucusdems@gmail.com.
