DP Strategies Summer Fellowship Program
Summary
DP Strategies is a fast growing start up headquartered in the U Street Corridor of DC. Our focus is on helping our political, small business and nonprofit clients punch above their weight.
The DP Fellowship Program gives a select group of college students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain firsthand substantive experience working at a fast growing startup. DP Strategies Fellows will work on projects for progressive political campaigns, nonprofits, businesses and advocacy organizations.
Fellows will participate in business development, fundraising, strategic planning, communications, public relations, advocacy, web development, video and graphic design projects for our clients. Fellows will be pushed to take ownership of their projects, find solutions and innovate.
Fellowship Projects
- Learn how to draft a business development strategy and put it in action to grow the company
- Learn the most effective fundraising strategies and techniques for political campaigns, causes and nonprofits, and raise money to make an impact
- Learn how to help organizations structure most effectively, and achieve their goals by working on strategic planning
- Learn how to become a communications whiz, and help our clients get their message out through earned and paid media
- Learn how to help organizations build relationships with key movers and shakers in the community and press corps, and leverage those relationships to make an impact
- Learn how to use graphic, video editing and web design software to create products for our clients that get folks to take action
Qualifications
- Current college student or recent college graduate
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn, experiment and innovate
- A track recordproblem-solvingving and thinking outside the box
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
- Past leadership roles in student organizations ideal
- Can manage and prioritize workload
- Previous graphic design experience is encouraged but not required
- A good sense of humor
