RIO STRATEGIES

Rio Strategies is New Mexico's largest full-service Democratic political consulting firm. With a client list including federal, statewide, and local candidates, Rio Strategies is looking for passionate, determined, and dynamic campaign staff to join our team.

THE ROLE

As Digital Manager, you will be the driving force behind social and digital media strategy. You will design and implement all social and digital components for all of Rio Strategies' electoral campaign clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Design and Management of Digital Programs

The Digital Manager will develop digital strategies that amplify and support the highest profile New Mexico campaigns of the 2018 cycle. In partnership with managing, finance, and political staff, the Digital Manager will own design strategy and content development for all clients' digital programs with a focus on the email fundraising, list building, and social media management.  The Digital Manager will be responsible for:

      Clients' website and social media activities, including Facebook and Twitter presence, and track analytics to report on the progress of campaigns and engagement.

      Produce creative content and copy for client emails, petitions, newsletters, graphics for social networks and other forms of media.

      Manage paid digital and social strategy including content development, placement, and message.

      Manage grassroots online organizing linked to campaigns.

      Manage social content linked to campaign strategy and message.

QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS

Candidates should enjoy working in a dynamic, team-oriented environment in which expectations are high for both the quality and speed of work. In addition, they should have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of fundraising or communications experience responsible for political/advocacy communications and/or digital media efforts

  • Strong campaign experience—experience on digital teams for multiple of the following: electoral campaigns, advocacy campaigns, issue campaigns

  • Attention to detail of message and message discipline across multiple platforms

  • Ability to produce high-quality creative and copy for social and digital

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team

  • A passion for Progressive politics and bringing real change to a state in desperate need

  • An understanding of the role of communications in achieving advocacy goals and policy change   

  • Working knowledge of NGP/VAN, ActBlue, NationBuilder, and social media analytic tools

  • Knowledge about production elements of the web such as HTML/CSS, WordPress (or similar content management systems), Photoshop, and other key tools.



Candidates must be willing to relocate to Albuquerque, New Mexico.
