POSITION SUMMARY:
The mission of the new Mobilization Department at the Democratic National Committee is to bring ordinary people into the heart of the DNC and provide Americans with encouragement, power, and tools to mobilize in their communities. We organize in all 3,413 counties across the country, through the state parties and from the grassroots, and we seek to impact down-ballot races and build the Democratic resistance to the corrupt, dangerous Trump-Republican agenda.
We are a team of passionate, cross-discipline experts committed to spreading the truth, getting people more deeply involved, and mobilizing grassroots donors to support the party through creative, relentlessly optimized experiences online and offline. Come join us.
We are looking for a junior designer with strong typography skills to help maintain the Democratic National Committee's brand message through all visual communications online and offline. The ideal candidate has a passion for design and promoting Democratic values. Candidates should be able to design within an established brand identity system, while pushing the direction of that brand forward. Daily projects will include social media graphics, printed materials for events and press, photograph selection and collaborating with Design Director and other creative stakeholders on larger projects and campaigns, including videos and website projects. You'll work daily to engage millions of Americans across the country, and coordinate with senior leadership to shape our brand.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with Digital team to execute design decisions for the DNC across digital and traditional platforms
- Create digital graphics and branded collateral to support all departments of the DNC
- Assist in photography selection and file maintenance for graphics
- Design social media campaigns, and support digital initiatives
ABOUT YOU:
- Previous experience or an internship at an agency or in-house creative department preferred
- High energy and positive attitude
- Ability to work under deadline pressure and manage multiple projects
- A solid creative portfolio that features typography work and creative branding projects
- Passionate for engaging millions of Americans in advancing the Democratic agenda, strengthening the Democratic Party, and winning the 2017 and 2018 elections
- Advanced Adobe skills
- HTML/CSS
Preferred Experience:
- Illustration, Print Production, Consumer Products
- Advanced front-end web design and coding experience
