BerlinRosen, a leading national consulting and strategic communications firm, is seeking a Vice President in our New York office to lead our efforts to help national public affair & public relations clients meet a wide range of campaign and communications goals in a changing media environment.
This position requires 6+ years of relevant experience in strategic communications and campaigns. A VP's time here will encompass not only strategic thought but practical implementation. You will lead and mentor a team, maintain and grow high quality media connections, work directly with clients who will come to depend on your strategic insights, works with the EVP and MD on new business, produce/edit content, and help grow the practice.
This position provides candidates with a unique opportunity to play a leadership role on a talented and growing team working with major national progressive organizations on some of the most high-profile issues of our time.
Applicants should possess:
- Execptional writing and editing abilities
- Demonstrated staff management experience and leadership skills
- Demonstrated skills in campaign, communications or public affairs strategy
- Strong news and political savvy and deep knowledge of the media
- Strong experience with media relations and demonstrated relationships with national reporters
- Experience leading creative communications or media campaigns around policy or political issues
- Attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of company staff, clients, contractors and the media
- Ability to handle multiple assignments at once, work quickly and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with a team to meet group objectives
- Bachelor's degree or experience in a communications-related field
- A sense of humor!
