Manchester City Democrats - Executive Director
Manchester City Democratic Committee seeks an Executive Director to oversee the 2017 Municipal Elections in Manchester, NH. The 2017 Municipal elections in Manchester will include a number of contested races, including a highly competitive Mayoral Election. Democratic candidate Joyce Craig has the opportunity to become the first female Mayor of Manchester. She ran in 2015 and lost by a margin of 64 votes. In this off-year election, turnout is going to be critical for success of Democratic candidates up and down the ticket. Success in 2017 is the first step towards success in the 2018 midterm election for Democrats in New Hampshire.
Role and Responsibilities:
The Executive Director will be responsible for working with the Manchester City Democratic Committee to create and execute a strategy to recruit and elect Democrats at every level of municipal government. These include Alderman, School Board, Moderator, Clerk and Selectman positions across 12 City Wards. After ensuring successful Democratic filings, the ED will work with candidates and campaigns to recruit and train volunteers to execute a voter contact program to mobilize voters. Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Work with Manchester City Democrats and NHDP Political Director to create recruitment and field plan for Municipal Election November 7, 2017
Work with Manchester City Democrats to execute recruitment plan
Work with campaigns and candidates to execute field plan
Execute GOTV for State Senate Special Election Campaign July 25th, 2017
Recruit and coordinate campaign volunteers via telephone, digital outreach, in-person meeting, etc.
Train and manage team leaders
Coordinate Manchester City Democrats fundraising, meetings, and events
Qualifications:
ROD/DOD level organizing experience
Working knowledge and prior experience using Votebuilder
Self-starter with great time management and organization skills
Ability to train and instruct volunteers
Excellent listening skills and ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally
Experience in setting and achieving measurable targets, managing teams, and coordinating between multiple stakeholders
Ability to execute strategic goals and work effectively with regional and local leaders
Strong organizational, management, and interpersonal skills
Enjoys working with in a collaborative, supportive team environment
Willingness to work potentially non-traditional hours including night
Extensive travel, valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
NH experience or knowledge is a plus
