Position Summary:
The Suffolk County Democratic Committee is accepting applications for a Deputy Paid Canvass Director to work in Suffolk County, NY during the 2017 election cycle. The Deputy Paid Canvass Director will be responsible for assisting the Paid Canvass Director execute the paid canvass plan. DPCD will train canvassers, oversee timely and accurate reporting from their staff, and ensure voter contact goals are met.
The Deputy Paid Canvass Director will:
- Recruit, train, and manage Paid Canvassers.
- Audit data and hold canvassers accountable to hit goals.
- Create walk lists, and launch satellite canvasses.
- Other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Exceptionally organized with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Ability to work long, irregular hours required.
- Commitment to electing Democrats on the local level.
Preferred, but not required:
- Experience with NGP-VAN.
- At least one cycle of organizing experience.
- Familiarity with Long Island/Suffolk County politics a plus.
- Bilingual speakers a plus.
