Summary

The Mohammad T. Rahman for City Council campaign is seeking petitioners to collect signatures to qualify for the City Council ballot in Queens, New York.

 

Location:  New York City 


This position is: Temporary, Part Time; Hourly rate of $10/hr

 

Start Date: ASAP

 


Reports To:  Field Director

 

Responsibilities

  • Directly engage with voters in the district 
  • Collect reasonable number of signatures per shift 
  • Honestly and accurately fill out petitioning sheets
  • Meet quota of reasonable number of signatures per night, to be determined
  • Consistently shows up on time for all weekly shifts.

 

Qualifications

  • Positive attitude, detail-oriented, and highly motivated
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to memorize a short script and adjust as needed to audience
  • Adaptable and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Respectfully with people of all cultural and socioeconomic background
  • Able to walk and sit for long periods of time
  • Previous canvassing/petitioning experience (doors, phones or both) is preferred but not required
