The Oklahoma Democratic Party (ODP) is seeking two field organizers, one in Central Oklahoma and one in Northeast Oklahoma. The position will last until September and will pay $2,500 a month with healthcare benefits. 


This is a great, entry-level position for recent graduates or simply people with a passion for politics. Field Operatives will organize specific communities in an effort to increase Party registration and create a Voter Turnout Movement that elects Democrats and progressives. Field Operatives will work with the ODP's Chair and Field Director. New hires will receive training in campaign strategy, messaging, and voter contact techniques.

Field Operatives will be the face of the ODP's effort to connect with targeted Democratic communities/voters and get them engaged. The ideal candidate is comfortable going door-to-door having conversations with Democratic voters.


Qualifications:

• Passion for electing Democrats and progressives

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with a wide array of partners and members

• Ability to meet deadlines and goals

• Attention to detail and good organizational skills 

• Proficiency in Google Docs, Microsoft Office, and Votebuilder

• Access to a vehicle and valid driver's license (frequent travel within region) 

• While not a pre-requisite to the job, prior campaign experience is a plus

• Ambition, drive, energy, and the ability to work flexible and long hours when necessary


Job Duties and Requirements

• Canvass, make phone calls, enter data, and occasionally attend community events 

• Maintain professionalism and sincerity, especially when speaking with voters

• Direct field activities for the ODP in specified region

• Coordinate with special election candidates and campaigns

• Coordinate with Democratic Party county and district officers

• Recruit and manage volunteers

• Coordinate phone banking, canvassing, and voter registration events


Compensation:

This is a full-time position that pays $2,500 per month. Benefits include participation in the ODP's health insurance plan as well approved travel reimbursement.
