Regional Field Organizer (Voter Registration)

Location: Grand or San Juan County, Utah

Description:
     The Rural Utah Project (RUP) is seeking Regional Field Organizers to implement a voter registration program in southeastern Utah. As Independent Contractors, Regional Field Organizers will be responsible for leading the volunteer management, data pipeline, and field operations components of a nonpartisan voter registration program in certain Utah counties and among rural populations under-represented in Utah's electorate.
     This position is a 1-year contract. Independent Contractors will provide their own workspace and equipment, and RUP will not pay for relocation expenses. Independent Contractors are responsible for paying all of their taxes, receive no benefits, and are not covered under any workers compensation program. Reasonable work-related expenses, such as travel and materials, will be reimbursed.

Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to implement voter registration plan
- Develop and maintain relationships with community leaders and volunteers
- Work closely with partner organizations and other groups with similar goals
- Foster and develop volunteer networks in assigned geographical regions
- Empower volunteers to develop into leadership roles within the program
- Conduct outreach to community groups to increase size and scope of program
- Work throughout and travel across a geographically large region
- Lead voter registration efforts in assigned regions

Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to meet tight and competing deadlines, and the ability to manage many tasks simultaneously
- Working knowledge of political campaign structure and/or voter registration processes and familiarity with campaign and/or voter registration technology
- Ability to work long and irregular hours, including nights and weekends
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing work environment
- Previous voter registration or campaign experience is preferred, but not required
- Must live in or be willing to relocate to Grand or San Juan County
- Bilingual in Navajo is a plus
