Field Director for Targeted Northern Texas Congressional Race
Location: North Texas
Reports To: Campaign Manager
Position Summary: A competitive congressional race in Texas is seeking a talented Field Director with heart, attention to detail, and a strong sense of urgency to manage a relational organizing program. A Hillary-won district in 2016 with a competitive early primary, this race will give applicants an opportunity to build an ambitious, strategic field program that propels the campaign to a primary and general election victory. The Field Director will be responsible for planning and executing the campaign field plan, hiring and managing field staff, and accountable for all quantitative and qualitative field metrics.
The Field Director will:
Hire, train, and supervise a team of Field Organizers
Scout out Organizing talent from in and out of state and conduct interviews
Train organizers in effective DVC and volunteer recruitment strategies
Plan and track hired Organizers' goals to meet weekly, monthly and phase goals
Foster an inclusive, team-oriented culture
Manage a robust direct voter contact program
Create and refine DVC universes for each phase of the campaign that match topline campaign goals
Ensure the campaign is meeting DVC phase goals, including tier penetration
Create a goal-driven volunteer program
Define programmatic goals for volunteer and team leader recruitment
Oversee organizers' execution of volunteer recruitment and track progress to goal
Qualifications and Requirements:
Have at least two cycles of field experience; management experience a plus
Understanding of targeting and metrics;
Experience recruiting, hiring, training and managing a team;
Commitment to establishing a culture of respect, inclusivity, and community;
Proficiency in VAN, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Docs;
Experience developing, training and empowering volunteers;
Previously held Field Organizer, Regional Field Director or Field Director positions a plus
Access to a vehicle required;
An ability to create and sustain a "happy warrior" culture -- fun, dedicated, and hard-working
