314 Action is seeking an Administrative and Compliance Director
314 Action is a new, dynamic 501(c)4 non-profit and PAC dedicated to scientific advocacy as well as recruiting, training and electing candidates with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) backgrounds to all levels of public office. 314 Action has recently been featured by many news outlets including the Atlantic, the Washington Post and CNN. 314 Action was referred to as the "EMILYs List for scientists" in Roll Call and we have already endorsed 6 top Congressional candidates across the country, while working with many more.
314 Action, seeks an Administrative and Compliance Director to oversee and handle our compliance and administrative operations while also assisting our development team and taking the lead on scheduling and travel for our President. The ideal candidate will have experience doing compliance for an organization, compliance firm or political campaign or have worked in fundraising/development. We are looking for a self-starter who is detail oriented and is interested in getting in early with a growing and dynamic organization. Applicants should be familiar with campaign finance law.
Responsibilities
· Check mail and process deposits
· Import ActBlue contributions into NGP
· Manage donor refunds, cancellations and chargebacks
· Compile regular reports of fundraising and expenses
· Manage bill/vendor payments and accounts payable
· Manage payroll working closely with our payroll provider, help onboard new employees
· Work closely with the Executive Director and other senior staff to develop and maintain the organization's budget.
· Manage FEC and state political disclosure filings
· Work with outside accounting firm on IRS Form 990 annual filings
· Book travel for President and other employees
· Assist with scheduling responsibilities for President
· Work with outside counsel to ensure organization's compliance with applicable law
· Oversee thank you process for donors
· Assist development team with projects as needed
· Other responsibilities as required
Qualifications
· At least a cycle of experience in political/nonprofit compliance or fundraising/development
· Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and NGP required
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
· Ability to manage several tasks/projects at the same time
· Flexibility and the ability to capitalize on opportunities that present themselves in fundraising
· An entrepreneurial spirit
· Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
· Hard working and highly organized
