Greg Edwards is a human and civil rights activist running for U.S. House of Representatives in Pennsylvania's 15th Congressional District. PA-15 is in southeastern Pennsylvania and includes all of Lehigh County and parts of Northampton, Berks, Dauphin, and Lebanon counties. The Greg Edwards for Congress campaign supports progressive policies that will improve the lives of working people throughout the district and has been endorsed by Bold Progressives (Progressive Change Campaign Committee), Justice Democrats, and The Collective PAC. Job Description
Work with a growing team at the Greg Edwards for Congress campaign. Based in our Allentown, PA field office, you will be responsible for managing our voter contact and volunteer program in Lehigh, Northampton, and Berks counties. You will be joining a campaign team dedicated to building a powerful grassroots movement to elect Greg to Congress. This is a salaried, full-time position and will begin in January, exact day to be determined in the hiring process.
Responsibilities
Recruitment and Training
Recruit and train volunteers to canvass, phone bank, and implement successful community events
Work with groups of volunteers to organize canvasses, trainings, phone banks, and community events to build capacity for the May 15th primary
Establish and build relationships with our growing list of volunteers and maintain volunteer database.
Canvass and Phone Bank Management
Organize and oversee launch of all volunteer canvasses and phone banks
Provide canvass and phonebank teams with a positive leadership culture, resources, guidance, and technical support
Accountability
Accountable for volunteers achieving goals for canvasses and phone banks
Maintain the integrity of collected data
Build relationships with community leaders in Lehigh, Northampton, and Berks counties
Applicants should expect to work long hours, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
Qualifications
Experience
Experience door-knocking for an issue-based or electoral campaign as a volunteer or staff
Experience managing or coordinating with a diverse team for a common purpose
Skills
Strong interpersonal skills, experience managing multiple deadlines, and maintaining attention to detail
Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills
Ability to hold others accountable to tasks on a timeline
Rooted in progressive values and understand the importance of grassroots organizing as central to winning
Miscellaneous
A driver's license and reliable transportation
Bonus Qualifications
Fluent or conversational in Spanish
Functional laptop and cell phone
Working knowledge of local politics and strong relationships with community leaders
Familiar with VoteBuilder/VAN
